Oleg Pavlovsky: Topological objects and phase
transitions in quantum and statistical models


In the lecture the connection of topological objects with the phase behavior of statistical and quantum systems will be considered. Both quantum-mechanical examples and examples from field theory will be considered. In field theory, the role of topological objects in the confinement effect in framework of lattice quantum field theory will be studied.
