Oleg Pavlovsky: Spin models and quantum field theory on a lattice
In the course of lectures the connection between the spin models and the quantum field theory on the lattice will be studied. The properties of spin models with global and gauge symmetries will be discussed. We will focus on the phase transformation phenomenon in spin models. The basic analytical methods (high and low temperature series expansions, duality transformation, renormalization group) will be studied too. In last part the numerical methods of Monte-Carlo simulations of spin models will be discussed.
